UHD Black History Month Events 2022

The University of Houston-Downtown honors Black History Month through a month-long celebration of campus events, which includes a kick-off event and a variety of speaking engagements and discussions on the Black experience.  

This year, The Center for Critical Race Studies, Student Government Association, W.I. Dykes Library, Center for Diversity & Inclusion, College of Humanities and Social Sciences and Black Student Association collaborated in organizing the following highlighted events: 

BLACK HISTORY MONTH EVENTS - RECLAIMING OUR PAST: SHAPING OUR FUTURES

Feb. 24 - State of the UHD Black Student Body: Student Deliberation Panel
11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m., UHD Wilhelmina Cullen Robertson Auditorium

Feb. 28 - TransAfricana: Homophobia and Transphobia in African Communities, featuring Ugandan Trans Activist Nana Millers
12 - 1:30 p.m., Virtual Event

Feb. 28 - SGA Rally and Video​ with BSA
4:30  - 6:30 p.m., UHD South Deck
