Student Organization of the Week: Philosophy Club

This week’s Student Organization of the Week is the UHD Philosophy Club. This organization functions under the direction of the University Philosophy Department and Phi Sigma Tau Philosophy Honor Society.

Philosophy Club Officers: Michaela Milligan, President; Emily Venegas, Vice President; Karen Valdez, Treasurer; John Garcia Chavez, Secretary.

Advisors: Dr. Andrew Pavelich, Associate Professor.

Mission: Provide a space where students and faculty can come together to discuss philosophical topics in an open forum. The club believes philosophical discourse in a relaxed setting will foster an interest in philosophy for a lifetime.

Membership: The organization has 46 registered members, and it’s free to join.

Message From The Organization: “Ever wondered about the meaning of life? Join the club!”

Interesting Fact About The Philosophy Club: The club holds its monthly meetings at Frank’s Pizza in Market Square on the first and third Thursday of each month.
